My First Rodeo

These school holidays I was super blessed and experienced my first rodeo. We camped at Kenilworth Homestead ( Kenilworth is near Sunshine Coast QLD) and went to the Kenilworth Rodeo. Camping at the Kenilworth Homestead was awe-inspiring. There was mountains all around, beautiful green, grass and amazing views. Kenilworth is an awesome place to visit because of all the breath-taking views. God has created many magnificent places in our world, and Kenilworth is most certainly one of those places.

One of the many views at the campsite

Another one of the amazing views

I thought this sign looked really rustic and looks very American.

The shape of the barn and the colour of the barn made me think of Texas.

The rodeo was enjoyable and entertaining. I had a wonderful experience. There was steer wrestling, calf roping, bucking bulls, bucking broncos, show jumping and lots more. Seeing the barrel racers race around the barrels inspired me to start barrel racing with my American Saddlebred horse.

Quick, go catch him.

Calf roping.

We've got him.

Watch out! Angry bull on the loose.

Someone is not very happy!

Barrel racing

The show jumping was incredible to watch. By the end of the day some of the competitors were jumping up to 1.2m high.  Horses are so majestic and beautiful. It is really amazing how God made them capable of jumping so high.

Camping at Kenilworth and going to the Kenilworth Rodeo was a very memorable experience. All the pretty views have been captured in my heart. All photos have being taken by me on this blog post.  Till next time. :)

  1. I like your photos ♥♥ good eye and aim!! would u really like to compete in barrels??

  2. Thx Tinyde for your comment. Yes, I would love to do barrel racing. It would be so much fun. :)

  3. :) I've never been to a rodeo before...it looks kinda fun....and scary too :D

  4. Thank you so much for your comment. It was very fun at the rodeo. :)

  5. Thank for helping me Keturah. Was wondering if this easier to read??

  6. I love your background and the photos are beautiful. It's been too long since I've been to a rodeo, I will have to take Caity and Kristi sometime soon. Thanks for sharing!

  7. I admit, I have never been to a rodeo before. I think and know that it looks super fun. One day I hope to go to one. God willing.
You took some really neat pics. I love you focus and aim (as I see Tinyde has already written)! You are blessed to have such talent.
I would only like to watch. I think that being IN the rodeo would be pretty freaky. I mean, what if you fall off the bull and he puts one of his horns into you! Ouch. That'd really, really hurt! I'd pray each time before and after for the safety of myself on that wild thing... God's thing... God's beautiful, aggressive creature.
The show jumping and Barrel Racing looks awesome to watch. I have seen horses jumping before. At a horse show.
When you were camping, did you find it hard to sleep? Were there mozzies? Did you camp close to the rodeo? And, one more, how many nights did you camp there for?
Again, love your photos. And, I love your top picture with "A Journey with a farmer girl". :)

  8. Hi Hair ama. I am so sorry for not replying sooner. Being having trouble replying to people's comments. Thank you so much for all your lovely words. There was actually one guy who fell off a bull and got a head-butt for the bull. Where we were camping it was beautiful and I had a wonderful bed to full asleep on. I don't think there was many mozzies but there was heaps of flying bugs at night time. It was crazy. We were about a 2 minute drive from the rodeo. We camped for 3 nights...... I think. :) God Bless

Thanks for commenting, when you comment you make my day :):) But please keep you words nice :)
